Security News from Nigeria just in has it that the Federal government has banned the training of private security guards by consultants.
While speaking at the opening ceremony of the training program organised for Chief Executive Officers and Directors of Private Security Guard Companies in Nigeria yesterday in Abuja, the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu made this disclosure.
The Civil Defence Boss maintained that henceforth, the training of Private Security Guards would be closely monitored by the government. He further stressed that owing to the current security situation and acts of terrorism in the country. It had become pertinent to upgraded the training structure and effectiveness of the Private Security Guards sector to meet with the current challenged.
In his statement, Mr Abdullahi said that "to achieve the objective of closely monitoring the training of private security guards companies. I have approved the use of NSCDC facilities spread across the country".
