Latest news from Abuja Nigeria has it that the immediate past governor of Benue State Mr Gabriel Suswam has been detained by the Department of State Services DSS. According to News reports, the former PDP Governor of Benue state was invited by the Security Agency on Tuesday over matters that were yet unclear, but was eventually locked up in DSS detention facility in Abuja.

SSN Political News Intel gathered that a close aid to the former governor hinted that his boss's invitation by the DSS was due to an alleged petition written to the Agency by a political big fish from the state.
Another speculation from inside source also revealed that Former Governor Suswam was invited to clear his name from crime allegations in Benue state.
As at the time of fielding in this report, it had not been officially ascertained why the DSS detained the former PDP Governor of Benue state. Efforts by news correspondents to speak with officials of the DSS proved abortive.
The People's Democratic Party PDP has however official condemned the arrest and detention of the former governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam by the DSS. The Nigeria's opposition party described it as "politically motivated".
