The on-going murder trial of Mrs Maryann Sanda yesterday took a turn when a Federal Capital Territory FCT High Court refused to grant her bail and ordered she be remanded in prison custody till February 6, 2018. This followed a plea by the accused defense counsel Joseph Dawodu asking the Judge to grant his client basil to enable her receive medical treatment in a hospital. The presiding Justice Halilu Yusuf hoeevrr ruled that the accused never displayed any signs or symptoms of sickness or ill health hence the bail appeal lacked merit.

In a similar development, the mother ofr the woman accused of killing her husband and who is also the Executive Director of Aso Savings & Loans Maimuna Aliyu was however granted bail along with two others. They were both accused of being accomplices to the murder of Mr Bello, the murdered husband of Maryann Sanda.

According to news, late Mr Bello was the son of a former Peoples Democratic Party PDP Chairman.
