As Nigerian workers and indeed all Nigerians continue to clamor for the adoption and implementation of the 30,000 naira new minimum wage as proposed by labour and the organised private sector, a man has taken the media by surprised in what appears to be a half naked long distance trek in protest.
Early hours of Friday, news reached us from concerned populace of a man whose identity we were still trying to uncover, who commenced on a leg-trek from Anambra with destination to Imo state. The strange man affirmed that although he is not a civil servant, he decided to undertake the journey in solidarity with the Organised Labour over their struggle to bring home the highly controversial minimum wage of 30,000 naira.
According to eye witness, the man was pleaded with to consider the security and health implications of the journey but he insisted that "if someone could trek to Abuja from Lagos, then he could also trek to Imo state, obviously dressed this way"
The man who is between the age bracket of 27 to 32 has long commenced on the journey and is expected in Owerri after some days, according to people's opinion concerning the distance involved.
However, the organised labour in Nigeria is continuing its mobilisation of all its direct and affiliate members for a national showdown by way of industrial action over what they considered as Government's refusal to accept the 30,000 naira minimum wage as recently proposed tabled by Labour and the organised private sector unions.
