In line with the Technology Incubation Program (TIP) of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the window is now open for entrepreneurs who are into the manufacture of technology-based products, to register and undergo nurturing or incubation of their business. This is achieved under a 6 months pre-incubation period, a 3 - year Incubation Period and also a timeless post-incubation services offered by the Technology Incubation Centre, Owerri.
The TIC Owerri is the Imo State office of the National Board for Technology Incubation NBTI, a federal parastatal under the Federal ministry of Science and Technology.
The Technology Incubation Centre Owerri is situated at Industrial Cluster, Naze - Federal Poly Nekede Road, Owerri, Imo state of Nigeria.

RESIDENT INCUBATEE
An entrepreneur whose application has been successfully approved by the National Board for Technology Incubation NBTI shall be given a free space / accommodation / production unit space. This is where the entrepreneur shall manufacture his products and distribute to the market. This accommodation is absolutely free for the whole duration of the incubation period.
NON-RESIDENT INCUBATEE
A successfully approved incubatee is allowed to remain at any location of his choice while all the services obtainable at the Technology Incubation Centre TIC Owerri shall be extended to him / her.
The NBTI through the TIC Owerri among other things shall render innovative and research services to the entrepreneur. They shall also render technical services, linkage services, laboratory and analytical services, free space, water, security and other logistic services as well as any other requirement which may help the entrepreneur succeed in his business and metamorphose into a full fledged company. More importantly, there is guaranteed easy access to grants, loans and other business funding services either from the federal Government, state government or other financial institutions like the Bank of Industry BOI, World bank, etc.
HOW TO APPLY FOR THIS ENTREPRENEURIAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY
- Visit the Technology Incubation Centre TIC Owerri, Naze Industrial Cluster off Aba Road Owerri.
- You shall fill a registration form which shall be submitted along with your Business Plan, Feasibility Study and a prototype of your product.
- Once your application has been approved by NBTI from Abuja, the Centre here in Owerri shall duly inform you to move into the premises of the TIC Owerri (as a Resident Incubatee), or begin to benefit from their services from your original business location as a non-resident incubatee.
The Technology Incubation Program is one tool by the federal government of Nigeria through the federal ministry of science and technology, for the promotion of science and technology-based entrepreneurship ventures, creation of jobs and wealth, eradication of poverty and the development of the Nigeria economy.
