According to news reaching the SSN News Info, the group lamented that as the nation draws nearer to her 2019 general elections, there is need to restructure the umbrella body of Christians in Nigeria - the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN. The NCEf stressed that the present faulty structure of CAN might spell doom for the continuous existence of Christianity if carried into 2019 without reorganising the body.

SSN News Intel gathered that this warning was contained in a paper presented by the Secretary of the NCEF, Bosun Emmanuel at the annual conference of the Catholic Men's Guild. The paper entitled "The Impact of Lack of Unity in CAN as Threat to the Christian Faith", took place at the Catholic Church of Assumption, Ikoyi Lagos state of Nigeria.

Secretary Emmanuel in his paper maintained that the current administration of President Muhammadu Bihari "is openly pursuing an anti-Christian agenda which had seen the countless murders of Christians all over Nigeria and the destruction of vulnerable Christian communities".

The lecturer maintained that "due to the inability of the CAN to forge Nigerian Christians into one indivisible army of the Lord, the church has been weakened and unable to stand before it's enemies".
