According to popular believe, the forests of the South Eastern part of Nigeria may be habituated by wild animals such as monkeys and snakes, but what happened few days ago in Enugu state of Nigeria has proven that there are still many more animals of the wild waiting to be discovered.
It was reported that two hunters in Enugu went on their usual bush activity but this time and to their greatest surprise, was greeted with what seemed to be the distant roaring of the wild cat. The hunters decided to investigate, combed the forest.
Not long after the search began, they found a white-gold mature female lion gently caressing the underbrush of the forest. Another closer look revealed that the lion might have escaped from the Zoo and most probably wounded.
News has it that as one of the hunters kept watch over the lioness, the other ran off to alert the public, while the attention of the authorities were drawn to the scene.
